BATTLE CREEK, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A Battle Creek police officer is now on leave following an officer-involved shooting on Wednesday, July 12. According to the Battle Creek Police Department, the incident happened on Boardman Avenue around 3:15 p.m. Authorities say police were initially called to the area of Dickman Road and Kendall Street where a man seen with a gun was possibly chasing someone. Officers then caught up to the suspect on Boardman Avenue. The suspect was injured during the incident and taken into custody by police where he is received medical treatment.
