Uncle Ed's Oil Shoppe in Battle Creek, Michigan

I initially had a really nice experience with Uncle Ed's oil change on Harper Ave in St. Clair Shores. I never felt as if they were up selling me. I had taken both of my vehicles to the dealer to change out the power steering fluid, as one of the vehicles needed a new pump. Better to get them both done now then to have issues in the future. The last 2 oil changes I had , I was more then blown away, I left feeling angry. 1 technician tries to up sell me on the oil filter, "If you have synthetic oil your basically wasting your money if you don't have a synthetic filter as well". I still objected to that as he's shaking his head at me like i'm a moron. Then he says, " You know, your power steering fluid is bad, needs to be changed". What?? So I then tell him the pump from the dealer and fluid are brand new, maybe 3 days old. He laughs and says his dad works for a dealer and they rip people off all the time. Then he tries to get me to buy a rear windshield wiper (also just replaced at the dealer) He just shakes his head at me again. 2nd Visit, different car, almost exactly the same comment with the power steering fluid. Which enraged me because that car is kept in our garage, only drove 10 miles after fluid was changed! Maybe it's just this location, I have no idea. I gave them the benefit of the doubt by returning a second time. Never again. There are to many oil change places to choose from.

Although it is a little expensive, it's worth it!! Employees are always friendly and helpful. Knowledgeable and quick! So glad I found this place!!
