A weekend snowstorm pummeled Battle Creek, causing the postponement of a holiday event and leaving area residents digging out.The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids said a spotter 5 miles northwest of the Battle Creek recorded 20.4 inches of snow from the lake-effect-fed, three-day storm. Meteorologist Joe Ceru said at least 11 inches remained on the ground Sunday after some snow melted and compacted."There was some lake effect and enhancement with this," he said. "The front went through and you have the bands that followed into the BC area.
